For immediate release

Subject: 2nd Annual Blues Capital Revue

August 9, 2012, 6:30 at the Brosig Auditorium

Navasota, Texas

The Navasota Blues Fest kicks off again this year on Thursday, August 9th, with a showcase of homegrown bands, offering a high quality sampler of the Brazos Valley music scene. This year’s Blues Capital Revue will feature four professional acts, sponsored by a partnership between Navasota Blues Alley, the City of Navasota, and Navasota ISD.

Tubie and the Touchtones (rock & roll and blues) headline the show and take the stage at 8:30. Leading off the concert will be the Blues Alley Cats (blues) at 6:30, followed by the Westernaires, a classic country band. There will also be special performances by Misslette, The Singing Cowgirl. All of the artists performing hail from the Grimes County/Bryan-College Station area. Tickets $6.

Last year’s show was held at the historic Miller’s Theatre, but the crowd was so promising, show promoters have sought a larger venue to accommodate the public. This led to a cooperative effort between public and private sponsors to nurture what could become a welcome tradition in the Blues Capital of Texas. Brosig Auditorium is a comfortable landmark with a large capacity, and is found near the intersection of Brosig St. and Washington Ave. (the main east–west avenue through town) and is freshly painted and prepared for the event.
